To start off our first French unit this year, students learned several French classroom expressions, so they can speak French in routine classroom situations instead of resorting to English. I taught them actions that go along with each expression in hopes of them better remembering the French due to visual aid. It was a lot of fun!
NOTE: there is a change in the QUIZ DATE!
QUIZ : JEUDI, LE 8 OCTOBRE
Partie A: Écoute (Listening) - Oral Testing
There will be a series of 10 photos and when I say one of the Classroom Expressions in French, you must match the number of the expression I say with the picture it describes.
For example: "Numéro 1 - Puis-je aller aux toilettes?" . Student puts the number 1 next to the picture of a bathroom.
Partie B: Lecture (Reading) - Written Testing
This section is a matching section. Match the French Classroom Expression with the English Classroom Expression.
Below is a photo of the list students should study for the quiz! :) Practice the expressions with the actions! Bonne chance!
- We did several oral warm-up activities to ease us back into French after all summer! We spoke A LOT of French in the month of September. Students did not do much writing at all. The emphasis was on the speaking of French.
- We covered how to say the Date, Weather, Hello/Goodbyes (Salut, À demain), Comment ça va, Âge, Anniversaires. We also learned how to confirm our attendance in class or how to say if someones is absent.
- We used the expressions - Je me souviens, je suis allé(e), je pense que, c’est, félicitations!
- We learned an interactive song called "Salut quoi?!"
- I am recording Participation on a website called Class Dojo. If you are curious about your Participation Point progress, just contact me or ask me!
- Students started their very own "Lexique"! It is a foldable dictionary where they can add new words and expressions that they learn in French class. This is an ongoing assessment and students are aware that a minimum of 5 words/week are expected. I will collect their lexiques before reporting periods in order to evaluate their progress.
